Platerian is a restaurant intelligence publication built on public restaurant-market data for Miami-Dade County.

What this is

Platerian publishes research for restaurant owners, operators, and F&B professionals: venue rankings built from public review data, a Google-versus-Yelp rating comparison, neighborhood and cuisine market pages, frozen weekly editions of the numbers, and an interactive map of the market. Readers can subscribe by email to follow new rankings and market data as they publish. Nothing on this site comes from a business owner's private accounts, and nothing is collected from anyone's personal social media.

What's live right now

This is a census stage: coverage is built from Google's public review data, with a Google-versus-Yelp comparison shown on venue pages where Yelp data is available. Ratings and review counts are shown with the size of the sample they're based on, so a reader can judge how much to trust a given number. Deeper layers (sentiment analysis, review velocity, and additional public review sources) are being built and will only appear on a page once real data supports them for that venue.
